New idea: Curling Iron Jelly Fish

I have come up with a new idea for my appliance.  I want to morph a jelly fish and a curling iron together.  The ideas that binds the two unrelated subjects is electricity and the damaging effects of touching either with the body.

Technically I'm still having trouble working my way around illustrator.  The jelly fish was scanned into a file from a drawing I did and then live traced.  The big black smudge is from the paper. I tried to find how to get rid of that or even how to separate the objects (fish and jelly fish), but to no avail. I will be morphing one of the tentacles to the shape of the curling iron.  This will probably be done through drawings at first and then manipulation on the computer.

The curling iron was a high contrast picture that was live trace.

I will be working on this image tonight so I can have a "real" idea of what overall it will look like by tomorrow morning.

  1. Hi Emily

good start. try not to rely on the live trace too much. frizzy hair or static electricity might be good. what environment will you place it in?

    good luck,
